Individual and team efforts are recognized with, for example, individual performance bonuses and on-the spot rewards. An intranet site, a suggestion box and a company newsletter are other strategies Best Buy uses to enhance and encourage a sense of belonging in the company.

Working environment
Buy provides competitive compensation and a generous benefits package for its employees that includes a health and wellness plan, life and disability insurance, parental leave with top-up, flex-time, a compressed work week and telecommuting. Additionally, there is a defined pension plan and a share-purchase plan to encourage an ownership culture. New employees receive three weeks paid vacation after one year and there are five personal days available each year. Best Buy encourages learning and, to that end, provides subsidies for professional accreditation, mentoring, in-house training and leadership training. It also provides paid internships, summer jobs and co-op opportunities for students.

Corporate culture
Best Buy is a strong advocate of social responsibility. Employees supported approximately 100 community and charitable organizations last year, including Geek Squad Academy, the Boys and Girls Club, and Best Buy School Tech Grants. Best Buy matches employee donations and employee volunteer hours with company donations. Best Buy believes that technology can benefit students and their education, enriching their lives by building confidence and creativity. It is one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2019.
