The Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society (operating as Kelowna Women’s Shelter) has been a beacon of hope and safety since 1980, supporting individuals facing domestic abuse across the Central Okanagan, from Oyama to Peachland. As a registered charity governed by a volunteer board of directors, we provide free, safe and confidential services, empowering individuals through sanctuary, advocacy and support. Our comprehensive programs include short- and long-term housing, support groups, advocacy, preventative education programs and more. Our team of professionals are available through our 24/7 Help Lines to ensure immediate and ongoing care. We also connect clients to other people-serving organizations and community services for additional support. Beyond our shelter, the Kelowna Women’s Shelter operates the KWS Thrift Store where funds raised go directly back into supporting our programs, and all vulnerable community members can access needed items free of charge through our voucher program.
