At Best Buy Canada, we believe empowered people and teams make smarter, faster, and more creative decisions. Our eCommerce department is a truly Agile environment, where the distance between any one person and senior leadership is microscopic. Here, you'll work on something big, small, or super cool and before you can blink 100,000 people will see it. You'll create fast, learn fast, and develop fast. Oh, and sometimes you'll fail fast too. That's ok. (Honestly.) It's all part of the process.

As the Business Operations Data Administrator, you'll set up, analyze, and process a range of operational, logistical, and content data related to products that will be sold on our site. Before any product data is even put into our system, you'll be the one analyzing the validity of the data and processing it. You'll play a key role in our business, as our buyers will depend on you to quickly and accurately process the operational data they need before they can order new product offerings to carry at Best Buy. You will be part of the team responsible for validating vendor-provided SKU content then assembling it all to go live on BestBuy.ca and in stores.

What you'll be doing:
     * Accurately setting up, analyzing, and maintaining product and SKU content data in a fast-paced, tight-deadline, high-volume environment
     * Analyzing the validity of submissions, implementing an approval process, and applying system, business, and operational procedures
     * Utilizing different tools and systems available to research, investigate, and/or escalate a wide range of issues for prompt and effective resolution, with understanding and constant consideration of downstream impacts as well as the overall business
     * Responding to ad hoc reporting requests by developing SQL scripts/queries to extract data for analysis purposes
     * Validating and putting together vendor-provided content data and digital assets for product assortment
     * Providing support to in-house merchants as well as vendors as they onboard products into our system
     * Providing input and recommendations for process and tool improvements to increase process efficiency and achieve long-term team goals

What you'll need to succeed:
     * Post-secondary education (degree or diploma in commerce, data management, or something similar not required but preferred)
     * 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data processing, or a related role (working with product data in a business administration, ecommerce, or retail environment or similar preferred)
     * A knack for understanding processes and flow of data in information systems
     * Experience using VLookup, basic formulas, and pivot tables in Microsoft Excel
     * Experience using queries in MS Access, SQL queries, and hot keys
     * Know how to talk to people (you'll be working with a lot of them!) - excellent verbal and written communication skills
     * Be an active contributor to team efforts and be a driver in both short-term and long-term team improvements

Who you are:
     * You have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy finding errors and making things right
     * You love data; maintaining its integrity is important, and you understand its power in driving results and change
     * You bring ideas to the table and enjoy exploring them in a collaborative environment - opinions and feedback are a must around here
     * You enjoy owning something and running with it - with the help of others, of course
     * You have enough discipline and focus to be in "task-mode" everyday to get the job done, but also know when to switch into "bigger-picture" mode to think outside the box and challenge the status quo, and proactively seek out improvements and solutions to inefficiencies or issues

Bonus:
     * Retail operational experience
     * Experience working in Agile
     * Experience with Adobe Photoshop
     * Experience building Excel macros

We believe we have the unique opportunity to help customers enrich their lives and pursue their passions with the help of technology
