The opportunity

Our client is looking for a Store Manager to lead, train, and guide the work of an eCommerce fulfillment team in a 6-8K sq. ft facility. You will prioritize productivity and safety to ensure customers receive the highest quality product and have a seamless experience. 

You will support their eCommerce business by fulfilling all orders, ensuring the correct products are picked, packed, and shipped according to customer needs.

A small portion of each shift will be spent overseeing and assisting with filling orders and moving stock in/out of cold storage walk-in space. Of course, it can be cold, even if for a few mins per shift, but you will be provided with the right gear to stay warm!

What you will do:

  • Lead and inspire the team. You will manage the fulfillment team, driving positive employee engagement and exceeding occupational health & safety targets. You will act as a brand ambassador and set an example for employees. You will work alongside the team as needed. You will pick and pack products to fulfill orders, perform daily cycle counts for high ticket items, and operate an electric pallet jack to transport products.
  • Inventory. You will oversee the daily inventory counts for food product and fulfillment supplies and adhere to loss prevention, inventory control and compliance procedures.
  • Meet KPIs and quality standards. You will ensure outgoing shipments of products meet company standards. You will track KPIs and act as part of the team accountable for meeting the department’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals. You will implement 5S and lean techniques to optimize quality metrics and cost per order. 
  • Continuous improvement. You will develop, implement, improve and maintain scalable systems and processes that ensure that all customer deliveries leave the facility on time, with a high standard of quality (no miss-picks) cost-effectively. You will collaborate with the Supply Chain, IT, HR and Customer Care teams to improve the delivery experience and resolve fulfillment issues.
  • Training. You will onboard, train, and provide continuous support to new and existing Store Associates. You will conduct performance reviews and build out professional development to fill gaps and provide pathways for growth.

What you bring:

  • People leadership experience. You are a coach and a manager. You have led teams, ideally in order fulfillment for eCommerce, or you may have a retail background as an Associate or Department Manager. You have created or optimized processes for efficiency and cross-training individuals. You have experience setting and measuring KPIs, fostering a customer-service-oriented environment. You are comfortable using computer software for reporting. You can balance customer orders with the needs of the business, operate with a sense of urgency and work alongside your team during peak order season.
  • Stamina. You are comfortable working in a cold space. You understand the physical demand of lifting and carrying up to 50lbs at a time repeatedly, working upright, and moving from one area to another throughout your shift.
  • Determination. You are committed to delivering superior results and adopting a sense of urgency to make things happen. You are results-focused, punctual, and show initiative and accountability.
  • Growth mindset. You are an analytical problem solver, open to new ideas and processes and motivated to take on new challenges. You can provide constructive feedback and share your knowledge with your team, setting them up for success.
  • Humble. You work collaboratively and lead respectfully as part of a team (even in a freezer set at -20). You have flexible and effective communication skills. You listen and act with thoughtfulness. You respect the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of your team and you prioritize the team over yourself.
  • Flexibility. You are available to work 40 hours a week across different shifts, including weekends, evenings, and early mornings. You are willing and able to travel to the US for initial training and periodically for further professional development if needed.
