dormakaba Digital is a new business unit within the Group which will be responsible for all cloud application operations and delivery for dormakaba Access Solutions Americas. This business unit will consolidate cloud system operations and develop a platform for all new cloud services. The Continuous Delivery Devops Lead position in dormakaba digital will be a pivotal role in defining and operating all new cloud software architectures.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, manage and execute software release builds and deployments for cloud application services. 
  • Work with various teams in DIGITAL group to execute on the delivery approach to meet multiple concurrent project delivery needs. 
  • Build automation, continuous integration, delivery and deployment. 
  • Work with development to get the requirements of application build and deployment process for new applications. 
  • Test automation, QA support, monitoring and alerting performance and scaling, 1st tier application issue response. 
  • Creating monitoring capabilities & alerting for Cloud Infrastructure Administration team members. 
  • Design & deploy cloud platform capabilities using cloud hosting tools (full stack – network, load balancing, DNS, security, databases). 
  • Implement & build automation tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, and Python scripting for streamlined deployments & systems updates 
  • Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, reference verification and background check

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field 
  • Knowledge of Database and data manipulation tools (SQL querying & updating) 
  • Must have thorough understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and release process and best practices 
  • Strong knowledge of the Dev Ops tool chain on Linux/windows platforms; Jenkins, Python/C++/Java, Ansible, Puppet, Confluence, git/tfs, Jasmine, chocolaty, cloud formation, etc. 
  • Deploying automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as Azure/AWS/IBM Bluemix 
  • Experience migrating applications from on premise data centers to cloud service providers 
  • Proficiency in system design & architecture 
  • Experience designing, building and operating distributed complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers 
  • Experience with Docker container related technologies like Kubernetes, Mesos, etc. Familiarity with AWS services or infrastructure architecture 
  • Experience working with large data sets including SQL data stores. Familiarity with big data analytic engines 
  • Ability to work in a team, solid interpersonal and leadership skills 
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in both official languages (bilingual) 
  • Persistent in the face of roadblocks; dispatches them efficiently, pulling in others as necessary. Requires minimal direction/oversight 
  • Takes the initiative to fix issues before being assigned them 
  • Ability to stay on top of projects and confidence in taking decisions to resolve or escalate issues 
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
