Manager, Specialty Leasing and Partnerships

Department: Laurier Québec, Place Ste-Foy
Position type: Salaried

Specific accountabilities

The primary function of this position is to increase the miscellaneous revenue budget at Laurier Québec and Place Ste-Foy, and also to elaborate a global strategy in terms of specialty leasing and partnerships for both shopping centres.

More specifically, he or she will be in charge of:

  • MRU program;
  • Temporary kiosks;
  • Temporary in-line leasing;
  • Centre focused partnership opportunities;
  • Sales and revenue analysis;
  • Incubating new uses/concepts;
  • Other innovative uses;
  • Align the specialty leasing strategy with long-term leasing.

Equal emphasis should be placed on both the revenue and the quality of the products and presentation within the centres.

Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Budgeting and forecasting, research of trends for both retail uses and merchandising techniques;
  • Coordination of displays (setups and takedowns), monitoring of displays, ensuring contract compliance;
  • Developing opportunities and partnerships and special events for both centres;
  • Build partnership and sale plans, as well as prospect new retailers and partners.

Key requirements

  • A college or university diploma in related discipline;
  • At least 5 years experience of retail leasing or specialty leasing;
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of commercial leases;
  • Strong understanding of retail industry;
  • The position is ideally suited for a self-directed, self-confident individual who is achievement and sales oriented;
  • You have the proven ability to develop innovative and creative uses of the common-area of the centres and make those concepts happen;
  • You are persistent and entrepreneurial in your approach to generating revenue and have the proven ability to close deals;
  • You possess excellent communication, organizational and negotiation skills;
  • Computer skills utilizing Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Fluency in written and verbal French and English;
  • Must be able to travel outside of Quebec City's properties from time to time;
  • This position may be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
