SENIOR DIRECTOR, PROCUREMENT AND PROMOTION MANAGEMENT

PURCHASING DEPARTMENT

PERMANENT POSITION

Reporting to the assistant vice president, Supply and Special Projects, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining / implementing procedures to execute marketings, healthy supply management and operations controls and monitoring.

In addition, he acts as BUR (business unit representative) to define computer service requests (CSR) for the entire purchasing and marketing sector.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports the assistant vice president in the following tasks:

  • Oversees revenues defined in suppliers' business plans and other revenues generated by the purchasing department;
  • Responsible for optimal recovery of agreements related to promotions and volume discounts. Oversees suppliers' terms of payment. Analyzes and assumes a follow-up of profitability reports;
  • Guarantees efficient promotion management;
  • Implements ongoing improvement projects to support the purchasing department's strategic objectives. Measures the impacts of completed projects;
  • Develops tools to measure performance (KPI) and provides follow-up;
  • Updates internal and external policies and procedures related to purchasing department;
  • Efficiently address our franchisee's questions and requirements;
  • Ensures effective communication with internal departments such as finance, merchandising, distribution centre and operations advisors;
  • Supports immediate supervisor in planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating supply chain operations;
  • Supervises a team of more than twenty employees. Hires, develops and evaluates employees to guarantee operational efficiency. Prepares and updates training material as required. Works in close collaboration with fifteen product category managers.

Human resources management:

  • Acts as BUR (business unit representative) to analyze, define and prioritize IT requests to the IT department for the purchasing and marketing sectors. Participates in the development of strategies to improve computer tools and various tests.
  • Hires, develops and evaluates human resources under his responsibility.
  • Supervises and trains procurement and forecasting coordinators, as well as promotion and administrative management coordinators.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in supply chain logistics management.

  • A master's degree would be an asset.

  • Have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in procurement, purchasing / marketing.

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in ongoing improvement management and project management.

  • Proven ability to supervise and mobilize resources and support them while promoting ongoing training.

  • Have recognized problem resolution skills, analytical skills and the ability to examine the framework of a department's problems and summarize findings and conclusions.

  • Able to use financial analysis to support the profitability analyses of the projects for which they are responsible.

  • Ability to work with various stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Have excellent communications skills in both languages (French and English).

  • Have strong change management skills.

  • Display good influencing and decision-making skills.

  • Have a strong sense of innovation.

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of organization and planning.

  • Have a strategic vision and political sense.

  • Have a complete mastery of organization and time management, the ability to manage long-term projects.

  • Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • A good knowledge of laws and regulations relating to retail business is an asset.
