As a Retail Security Guard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment through proactive patrolling, strong situational awareness, and effective surveillance. You will help prevent shoplifting and security incidents while using excellent communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills to address situations professionally and respectfully. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? * Hourly wage of $21 * Part-time opportunity: Thursday to Saturday, 16:00 to 20:00 (4-hour shifts) * We will invest in you, covering the costs of continuing education through GardaWorld Academy * Career growth opportunities at GardaWorld * Uniform provided at no cost * Supportive team environment where your safety and well-being are a top priority * Employee recognition programs to reqard your hard work and dedication RESPONSIBILITIES FOR RETAIL SECURITY GUARD * Patrol critical areas to identify and deter suspicious activity * Verify identification and control access to secure areas * Respond promptly to incidents or potential threats and document all actions taken * Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of alarms and surveillance systems * Respond to alarms and conduct on-site investigations as required * Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents QUALIFICATIONS FOR RETAIL SECURITY GUARD * Be authorized to work in Canada * Hold a valid BC security license * First aid certification - an asset * Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift * Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness * Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations * Strong report writing skills * Exceptional customer service skills This could be more than a job! The Retail Security Guard is responsible for patrolling the premises to deter suspicious activity and monitoring surveillance systems. They must also respond to security incidents, document actions taken, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary.

Candidates must hold a valid BC security license and be authorized to work in Canada. Strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift are required.
