Role Description
The Store Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of store operations while creating an outstanding experience for both customers and team members. This role sets the tone for the store by building a strong sales culture, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring operational excellence every day.
As Store Manager, you will oversee daily operations including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, inventory management, visual merchandising, and compliance with company policies and loss prevention standards. You’ll use key performance metrics to coach your team, drive sales, and deliver results while maintaining a clean, organized, and engaging store environment.
A key part of this role is growing Lids’ Custom business. You’ll coach associates to confidently introduce embroidery and personalization options, create memorable customer experiences, and identify opportunities to expand custom sales through local sports teams, schools, businesses, and community organizations.

Qualifications
Previous retail management experience, preferably in apparel, accessories, sporting goods, or a specialty retail environment. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team Strong customer service skills with a passion for creating exceptional shopping experiences. Demonstrated success driving sales and achieving key performance metrics. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Experience with scheduling, inventory management, merchandising, and day-to-day store operations. Ability to analyze business results and use performance data to identify opportunities and improve results. Knowledge of retail loss prevention practices and operational compliance. Comfortable promoting and growing custom embroidery and personalization services through in-store selling and community outreach. Proficiency with retail POS systems and basic Microsoft Office applications. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
