
FT Hardware Clerk II (Greystone Home Centre, Posting #232, Saskatoon, Sk. - Saskatoon Co-op)
About the role
Reporting to the Hardware Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.

To be dependable for all scheduled shifts.

To provide information, assistance and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs, requirements and expectations of the consumer.

To open and close the Home Centre as directed by the Unit and/or Merchandising Manager.

Under the direction of the Unit Manager and/or Merchandising Manager, to supervise and train staff in the general operation of assigned sections.

To assume responsibility for a designated section of the sales floor including merchandising, inventory levels, and orderings and ensure that the section meets or exceeds association standards.

To review and act on various P.O.S. reports as they pertain to the section and as directed by the Merchandising Manager.

To be familiar with and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Applicants must be strongly service-oriented and motivated, and capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.

Applicants must be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics and training sessions.

Applicants must possess sufficient experience of Hardware and Building materials to effectively operate in all areas of the department.

Applicants must possess specialized knowledge and a minimum of two years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, heating, paint, or tools.

Must have the demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including: lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders.

Estimating experience will be considered an asset.

Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
