In this role, you will assist customers with product inquiries, order entry, order picking, and backorder follow-up. You will also collaborate with both the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams to support overall sales operations. Key responsibilities include: Assisting customers with purchases made at the Profit Centre counter. Researching products and providing recommendations based on customer needs and available inventory. Contributing to sales growth through effective counter merchandising, product promotions, and identifying leads for the Outside Account Manager while building relationships with customers. Processing, picking, and packing sales orders generated at the counter. Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing counter area, including merchandising displays. Monitoring inventory levels and notifying the buyer when stock is running low. Following up with purchasing on backorders and communicating accurate delivery timelines to customers. Processing returns and warranty claims for both account and cash sales while ensuring compliance with company procedures. Addressing customer concerns and complaints by identifying and implementing appropriate solutions. Performing additional duties as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager. Qualifications Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset A minimum of 2 years of experience with customer service or counter sales Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders Experience working in a fast-paced environment Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity Ability to work well independently and in a team setting Preferred Skills: Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers Experience using Microsoft Office and other software programs Previous forklift experience an asset.
