Role Description This full-time Optometrist role is an on-site position located in Scarborough, ON. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, ocular health assessments, and contact lens evaluations, and provide accurate diagnoses and treatment recommendations. Daily responsibilities include prescribing eyewear and contact lenses, educating patients on eye health and preventive care, and documenting findings in accordance with professional and regulatory standards. The Optometrist will collaborate with optical staff to ensure appropriate lens selection, fitting, and follow-up, and may assist with clinical workflows to improve patient experience and efficiency. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of optometric practices, adhering to all relevant regulations, and contributing to a professional, inclusive, and patient-centered environment. Qualifications Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Optometrist in Ontario, with a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Strong clinical skills in refraction, ocular health assessment, contact lens fitting, and management of common ocular conditions. Proficient in patient communication, including explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive eye care in clear, accessible language. Ability to work collaboratively with optical retail staff and other team members to support seamless patient care and customer service. Comfort with using electronic medical records and basic digital tools for scheduling, documentation, and communication. Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and maintaining a respectful, inclusive environment for patients and colleagues. Previous experience in a retail optical or community clinic setting is an asset, but motivated early-career optometrists are encouraged to apply. Availability to work full-time hours, including potential evenings or weekends based on business needs.
