Responsibilities

Tasks

Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.) Assign sales workers to duties Hire and train or arrange for training of staff Order merchandise Authorize return of merchandise Establish work schedules Sell merchandise Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages Organize and maintain inventory Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers Manage cash Conduct performance reviews Address customers' complaints or concerns Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff Prepare and submit reports Prepare budget and cost estimates Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage Establish methods to meet work schedules Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards Hire food service staff Requisition food and kitchen supplies
