About the role

The Beauty Category Buyer is responsible for selecting and purchasing a wide range of beauty products, including skincare, cosmetics, haircare, and personal care items on behalf of our company. This role is essential in ensuring our stores are stocked with on-trend, high-quality beauty products that meet customer expectations and drive sales.

Major Responsibilities · Identify, source, and purchase a diverse range of beauty products—including skincare, makeup, haircare, and personal care items. · Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms for pricing, quality, and delivery to ensure value, reliability, and timely product availability. · Monitor inventory levels and manage purchase orders to ensure optimal stock availability across all store locations, avoiding overstock or stockouts while supporting the company’s rapid expansion. · Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, merchandising, and store operations. · Assist internal teams by providing product knowledge, inventory updates, and supplier information to ensure smooth execution of marketing, visual merchandising, and retail operations. · Support new store openings by coordinating inventory planning, ensuring timely product delivery, and aligning assortments with local customer demographics. · Participate in the development and evaluation of new products with suppliers to · Create and manage purchasing documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and approval samples, ensuring accuracy and timely execution. · Generate regular reports on sales performance, budgets, inventory health, and market insights to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements · A background in beauty product management, fashion merchandising, or cosmetic science is considered an asset. · Minimum of 1 years of experience as a retail buyer or in a relevant role, preferably with buying categories similar to Miniso (i.e., Lifestyle, Toys, Health and Beauty, Food and Beverages). · Strong verbal and written communication abilities. · Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. · Proven negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and build long-term supplier relationships. · Familiarity with market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques to identify trends and optimize purchasing strategies. · Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with inventory or ERP systems is an asset. · Knowledge of beauty industry trends, consumer behavior, and category-specific product lifecycles is an advantage. · Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French or Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.
