Shipping Supervisor
Shipping Supervisors plan and direct the daily requirements of the warehouse and shipping department. The right candidate will also be adept at effectively creating, implementing, and directing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the shipping department in conjunction with corporate oversight and goals. This role will be supporting our Assistant Manager of Fleet Operations.
We are looking for someone to be actively engaged in the warehouse and to be able to supervise, and guide shipping department associates in their daily activities. They will also develop and build a strong work relationship with inbound and outbound departments as well as drivers on the road.
This is an entry level position with the opportunity for career advancement in fleet, back-end yard operations and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Completing all shipping/picking/packing/inventory checks as required for quality control
- Maintain picking accuracy and responsibility for complete and correct shipments to customers
- Ensure shipping documents are completed and correct
- Operate equipment safely
- Optimize Freight Flow
Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse operations
- Inventory management is an asset
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of MS Office
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships throughout the organization.
- Comfortable speaking with stakeholders from all areas of the business at all levels of leadership.
- Sets and accomplishes challenging goals by leveraging team resources effectively.
- Building supply industry knowledge would be an asset.
