Associate Manager, Taxonomy Governance
Position Summary...
The Associate Manager, Taxonomy Governance is a subject matter expert on our Product Information Management System (PIM), who will be responsible for:1. Walmart.ca taxonomy governance, and execution of site merchandising requests in the business systems.
2. The categorization of items into the proper taxonomy nodes (using rules for Marketplace items).
The role is responsible for ensuring back-end product data for the Walmart.ca product catalogue is configured correctly to achieve business users' desired front-end treatment. Ensuring timely and accurate creation of web hierarchy updates and accurate classification for items on the site will be a primary responsibility.
Finally, as the business transitions from a legacy to a new Product Information Management (PIM) system, the Associate Manager taxonomy governance will retain management of operations of the legacy PIM (for the duration of time it remains in operation), as well as help ramp-up the new PIM.
What you'll do...
Subject Matter expert in PIM system - deep understanding of the implementation of the platform and its applicability to business outcomes
- Oversight of legacy PIM to Next Gen PIM attribute & functionality mapping process
- SME for new PIM (Global Omni Item Project) - SME, Administrator/Super User functions post-launch.
- Provide resolution to PIM data issues as they surface day to day by the business.
Management of the PIM taxonomy, and its taxonomy related enhancements:
- Manage and maintain data governance in the PIM
- Assign User Permissions, Roles & Responsibilities within the system
- Provide UAT support, guidance, and feedback to ensure all system enhancements adhere to business needs
• Taxonomy governance and execution
- Execute the taxonomy change requests from the site merchandising team.
- Ensure taxonomy governance is followed by the site merchandising team (i.e for example, ensure there is no duplication of categories across Walmart.ca), and align with the overall GOI systems
- Administration of the Tango system for event creation and collection management
• Manage the Market Place assortment shelving rules/operation:
- Responsible for ensuring marketplace products are assigned to the most relevant product hierarchy architecture by creating logic and rules in our back-end systems to drive product categorization
• Training:
- Conduct internal Associate training as required and will support technical questions from all PIM stakeholders
• Manages and directs a small team of Product Information Analysts.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Years of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years
· Basic knowledge of SQL queries
· Experience with Stibo STEP
· Data management
