Job Summary

Responsible for supporting cashiers in providing exceptional customer service and completing all point of sale procedures. Through effective scheduling, coaching and leading by example, the Head Cashier ensures all customers' needs are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and acknowledge every customer; maintain solid product knowledge; and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Oversee and authorize guest returns, exchanges, merchandise credits, check authorization, and discretion discounts (i.e. competitive, employee sales, etc.); assure the completion of all PoS transactions and the proper control of cash at PoS registers.
  • Help train cashiers and cross-train other associates.
  • Help prepare daily deposits and change.
  • Oversee the productivity, breaks and daily scheduling of cashiers; communicate performance issues to management.
  • Maintain front-end supplies.
  • Cover cashier shifts when call-offs occur.

  • Detail oriented with strong time management and problem solving skills.
  • Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Knowledge of register operation, including cash, credit cards and register receipts.
  • Previous experience is required.
