What you will do:

  • Work collaboratively with various business functions to facilitate delivery of solutions that meet business priorities while supporting corporate objectives across multiple spend categories.

  • Responsible for administering RFx's including analyzing the current category landscape, working with Procurement Manager to build and develop the sourcing strategy, researching potential vendors, executing sourcing event activities, perform bid analysis and create associated reporting, negotiating contract pricing, terms, and conditions, and completing all NMP related project/procurement documentation.

  • Works with Procurement Manager to build and proposes solutions and make recommendations to meet organizational pricing and profitability goals while also supporting operational requirements.

  • Execute contracts by using standard and customized contracts, support drafting activities, and liaise with internal and external legal counsel to finalize contracts. Negotiate business terms and conditions with vendors.

  • Work with internal clients in the execution of RFx strategies, and to ensure contract terms, Service Level Agreements and escalations are understood during the bidding and implementation stage.

  • Uses project management and prioritization skills to effectively plan work and consistently deliver on concurrent initiatives.

  • Monitor vendor performance during the contract term and ensure that all information is captured and updated in vendor and contract records.

  • Liaise with suppliers and various key stakeholders before, during and after sourcing events.

  • Manage stakeholder communication, requisitions, Q&A documentation/distribution, evaluation, reference calls and vendor briefings.

  • Use procurement related tools (e.g., Ariba or Coupa) to fulfill responsibilities.

  • Become a SME on assigned area by developing and maintaining business, process, and project specific knowledge.

What you bring

  • University degree in business or related area, College/Technical Institute diploma, or salient certifications (such as PMAC, Certified Purchasing Professional, etc.).

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, contract drafting, competitive price analysis, and supplier performance management.

  • Experience (in a sourcing and procurement capacity) in one more specific spend categories, such as Business Services, Printing, Warehousing, and Store Supplies, would be an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and leading procurement technologies (e.g., Ariba or Coupa) is an asset.

  • Strong project management skills with ability to organize, control and coordinate a variety of activities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate complex analytics.

  • Self-motivated to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Creative problem-solving and a certain degree of latitude are expected.

  • Ability to execute and attain measurable results.
